being bosnian can be so exhausting because sometimes im bosniak and sometimes im bosnian and in the eyes of nationalists i am a turk or a serb muslim with serb ancestors and im harassed by 17 year old chetniks who were taught the same hateful rhetoric their parents learned from nationalists and some days i do not feel like a real person with a culture and history because of everything that has been stolen from me and the nationalists have gotten a little too good at gaslighting bosniaks and telling me my language doesnt exist and it just feels like modern day genocide thats violent but not in a physical sense and some days i feel so ground in my identity, like when im presenting a project on settler colonialism in RS and my classmates look at me and say, ”this is powerful,” and ”thank you for teaching me—i never knew,” and it eases the sharp bite of pain driven by a wedge in my skull and i feel like who i am supposed to be: a bosniak, teaching my peers about my history and who i couldve been if it werent for war

Andy Cohen: “You’re talking about Brett Goldstein, and you know, I gotta tell you something. It seems like your love interest this season - I mean, I don’t want to push this too hard - but I mean, you guys have a great bromance - Jamie and Roy Kent have like a very sweet bromance this season.”
Phil Dunster: “Well, I mean, you’re pushing it pretty hard, and I don’t mind it. But there’s a pretty strong…I mean, it’s just romance - just straight up romance. But I think that, you know, I think that any, like, intimate relationship that Jamie has, seems to be pretty intense. That he has with Keeley. That he has with his mum. That he has with - I was going to say with Brett, that I have with Brett. And that Jamie has with Roy. But. Yeah. I think that he really doesn’t know how to do, like, chill relationships, friendships. With Sam Obisanya, he’s, like, giving political statements, with [Roy], he’s either kicking and punching him or he’s hugging him, crying with him. So it’s pretty intense.”

frankly i will never recover from the multiple royjamie hugs. i will never recover from the way roy is so sure of himself when he walks over to hug jamie for the first time, but also the way his hands are so light and hesitant on jamie’s back (even when jamie is grasping onto him so tight). you can literally see roy’s hands shaking. i will never recover from the way roy headbutts jamie just for an excuse to hug him, and then way he holds him way tighter this time. they’re both smiling so much. i will never recover from the way roy himself won’t accept a hug and won’t accept comfort, but the moment jamie reaches out for it again, asks to be comforted, roy hugs him again. i’ll never get over roy hugging jamie so easily when he knows jamie needs it.
